The YSO Christmas Orchestra Concert

By Conner Tighe & Jacqueline Hanoman

Over 30 students participated in our music camp this year, where the Ross Community Center partnered with Youth Symphony Orchestras of East Central Indiana. The program that has been going on since the beginning of the 2021 school year has seen students learn to play the violin and the cello.

While it takes 2-3 years to fully master the violin, eight of our YSO students performed beautifully last night at our Christmas Orchestra Concert. The concert lasted approximately an hour and featured groups of strings performing together. The YSO program is expected to last until the end of the school year.

“We are honored to have a partnership with YSO, in which YSO instructors taught our children how to play the viola and cello here at our center,” said Ross Center executive director Jacqueline Hanoman.
