Another wonderful day making the Ross Community Center more beautiful!

By Jacqueline Hanoman

What a wonderful day we had Saturday as we continue to make our center more beautiful! Thanks to the wonderful friends who volunteered their time to continue to build our park into our dream space of emotional, physical, and nutritional well-being! Lindsey Cox, Purdue Extension Community wellness coordinator, Serving Delaware, and Blackford counties; Dr. Lynn Witty from the Healthy Lifestyle Center; John Disher, Community Outreach Director

IU Health Ball, Blackford and Jay counties; John Ambrosio; Austin Weiland; our friends from the Church of Latter-Day Saints; and our very own Rachel Foster and Jack McFarren, Education and Sports Coordinators respectively, at the Ross Community Center. Thank you all for your incredible work!  Yesterday we planted native flowers, edible flowers, strawberries, squash, basil, rosemary, tomatoes, chives, sage, lemongrass, and other delicious herbs. By July, everything will be in bloom! What a wonderful summer awaits us!

We thank the Sherman and Marjorie Zeigler Foundation for their generous funding to renovate our park to make it a beautiful place of tranquility, play, and learning, Purdue Extension- Nutrition Education Program for their funding to create a community garden of delicious vegetables and herbs and to Minnetrista for their donation of plants.
